We’ve probably all heard of Twitter at this stage, well most of us have. So for those who don’t know, Twitter is a site that lets you blog a comment of 140 characters on anything you like. Like most things on the internet, Twitter is a great way of following trends and what’s going on. Follow other companies or individuals in your area and see what’s of interest and what developments are taking place. Twitter can also give your business a personality or image. Tweet the way you want to be thought of. It’s very much the same as any form of communication and can be utilised to give your company the image you want to give it. Some of the things to remember when Tweeting to ensure your communication doesn’t cause harm is to ensure you don’t tweet the same Facebook and Twitter status as it may cause irritation for people who see the same status on all social media platforms they have. Make sure not to Tweet too much and if you’re promoting your business don’t flood Twitter with ten tweets in half an hour - Pace yourself for the best effect. Also don’t write in with the cap locks on, it’s unattractive and is the written equivalent of screaming.
